Vision

All people in Ohio’s behavioral health and other care systems experience and practice cultural competence that leads to optimal outcomes, providing a model for change.        

Mission

To enhance the quality of care in Ohio’s behavioral health system and to incorporate cultural competence into systems and organizations that provide care to Ohio’s most vulnerable and at-risk populations.

Our Services

  • Sponsoring Lectures, Conferences and Educational Sessions concerning issues of cultural competence and other contemporary issues

  • Researching cultural competency practices, standards and providing this information through our Resource Library

  • Partnering with systems and organizations to help them assess and improve their level of Cultural Competence

  • Identification and development of cultural competence: assessment tools, trainers, and training curricula throughout the State of Ohio
 

MACC Releases Report on Somali Mental Health Needs

On August 12, 2008 MACC announced the release of their 2008 “Learning Your Needs” Updated Cultural Competence Needs Assessment Report featuring new mental health information on the Somali community.

MACC CARE Ohio Training Program

MACC and United Way of Central Ohio are pleased with the progress of the former CARE Columbus training program which was transfered to MACC in 2009. CARE Ohio training has expanded to a statewide level and increased the program’s capacity to serve a broader variety of health care and human services-related disciplines.
